Jeff Kadish

CEO & Co-Founder

Jeff Kadish has worked in restaurants since the age of 12. He studied Hotel and Restaurant management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Class of ‘84 and went on to work as a Manager, General Manager, and F&B Director for Chart House Restaurants, Restaurant Associates and the Back Bay Restaurant Group.
His broad culinary knowledge and restaurant operations experience is enhanced through his extensive travel with his wife Francine, during which he has studied with chefs in France, Italy, Hong Kong and Thailand.
In 1993, Kadish teamed with lifelong friend Steve Scher, who tragically passed away in 2008, and opened Main Street, “a family style” American restaurant located on the Upper West Side. Large portions, friendly service and good vibes defined Main Street’s personality. May of 1995 Kadish and Scher opened Rain, around the corner from Main Street. The Pan-Asian eatery opened to a packed house and spectacular reviews. With a growing operations team in place, the partners set out to create an even grander experience, teaming with the talented chef Rocco DiSpirito in 1997 to open Union Pacific in the Flatiron district. Main Street Restaurant Partners tireless commitment to Union Pacific paid off when, in the summer of 1998, the restaurant earned a three-star review from The New York Times. While basking in the success of Union Pacific, the group opened a second location of Rain on the East Side and Calle Ocho in their original space on the UWS. Calle Ocho is the standard bearer for Nuevo Latino cuisine in NYC continuing into its 17th year in 2015. In the summer of 2002 MSRP opened Django, an 11,000 square foot space designed by the Rockwell Group, with a Mediterranean French fare that shook up the dining scene of Midtown East. In 2005, Main Street Restaurant Partners entered a joint venture relationship with BLT Management and opened BLT Prime in NYC followed by BLT Steak in Washington, DC in 2006. Both restaurants continue to be rated as top steakhouses in their respective cities. In 2014 Kadish teamed with longtime friend David Rabin and his Partner Kyle Hotchkiss Carone to open Cafe Clover in the West Village. Main Street Restaurant Partners in 2014 also took over the day to operations of Chavela’s in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, a Michelin Guide restaurant with a Bib Gourmand designation. Main Street Restaurant Partners has branched out to perform Financial Management Consulting for a number of restaurants that have included San Domenico, Le Cirque, Osteria De Circo, The Lion, Coffee Shop and Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster Harlem and Blue Parrot East Hampton.

Jeff Kadish, with his team at Main Street Restaurant Partners, currently direct the operations and financial management of BLT Prime NYC, BLT Steak DC, Calle Ocho, Cafe Clover. New projects recently opened are Clover Grocery a Gourmet Market in the West Village and Bodega 88 a Sports Bar on the UWS with a Latin themed menu.
Jeff lives with his wife Francine in Garrison New York. They have two children Daniel, 25 and Elyana, 21.
